How does the pre-emption process work?

When an online customer links a trade-in to a new vehicle order they will select a Stellantis registerred agent location where the handover of the two vehicles will take place. At the moment this ocurrs the Agent location selected will recieve an e-mail giving them the opportunity to pre-empt the purchase of the trade-in....

...clicking on the link embedded in the e-mail will take the Agent into Carcheck where they will be able to review the detailed appraisal file and decide if they want to purchse this vehicle for their own stock..

...by going into the Trade-In Price tab (above) the Agent will enter the pre-emption page below...

....under the pre-emption option the Agent will have the choice to confirm purchase of this vehicle for their own stock on the new vehicle handover date....

...if the vehicle does not fit their desired stock profile all the dealer has to do is allow the pre-emption deadline (48 hrs) to lapse.

Next step: both vehicles and the customer will be at the chosen dealership on the handover date.
